Paisley Colour Photographic Club (PCPC), now in its 56th year, offers the very best in club and professional photography.
Our comprehensive programme, held on Thursday evenings from September to April at the McMaster Centre in Renfrew (or the Hunterhill Centre in Paisley on the first Thursday of each month) , includes slide, print and (mostly) digital presentations from top photographers from all over the country, interspersed with digital and print competitions.
The club also participates in external SPF, PAGB and PSA competitions, as well as the Renfrewshire Inter Club Competition and a 3 way Audio Visual competition with local Camera Clubs.
Last session we undertook a new venture, namely, participation in two Photographic Society of America (PSA) Inter-Club Competitions. One of these was for Colour Projected Images and the other for Nature Images. We were the only member club from Scotland. We gained promotion in both Divisions, and were awarded a total of five Awards of Merit, eleven Honourable Mentions....and a Gold Medal.
We now look forward to the 2011-2012 season - and continuing successes!
Once again we are indebted to Reid Kerr College for support. This coming session we will have the use of a classroom on a Tuesday evening (separate from Club evenings) for our monthly tutorial sessions. This will include support for new members, preparation of images and prints for competitions, camera and Photoshop techniques and Audio Visual work - all in a relaxed atmosphere.
Our website continues to run successfully. Maintained by Web Manager David Dalziel who regularly keeps the site up to date, David is always looking for members to add their own portfolio to the site. You can find details on the website or talk to David when the new season gets underway.
Although we have a very healthy membership, it is always pleasing to welcome new members. Visitors are most welcome to come along on any Club night and, hopefully, enjoy an evening with us. We look forward to meeting you.
